MARIGOLD BLAKE HILL
Marigold spent her early years as a FANY (First Aid Nursing Yeomanry) during WWII. Her husband Philip was the curator of the Roman Coins collection at the British Museum and we had many interesting conversations about the post Republican period. We discussed mothers passing. Marigolds father died when she was 23, after Godfrey committed suicide by gassing himself. Marigold still recalls that fateful day. Painted in 1981.
